You’re scrolling LinkedIn.
Another new job post. Another “I’m thrilled to share…” update.
And while you want to feel happy for them—let’s be honest:
It stings.
Because you’re still in it.
Still networking.
Still interviewing.
Still waiting.
And it starts to feel like everyone’s moving forward—except you.
But here’s the truth:
Job searches are not a race. They’re a strategy.
And staying grounded in yours is how you win.
Seeing others land roles can trigger thoughts like:
But comparison is a liar.
You don’t see the full story behind those updates.
You don’t know how long they searched.
You don’t know what tradeoffs they made.
You don’t know what they didn’t post.
And most importantly?
Their win has nothing to do with your worth.
When clients tell me, “I feel like I’m falling behind,” I remind them:
Progress is not measured by how quickly someone else gets a job.
Progress is measured by how clearly you’re owning your process.
This is where emotional endurance matters.
Because the people who land great roles don’t always get there first.
They get there focused.
They get there steady.
They get there still believing.
When you feel a pang of jealousy, ask:
“What about their news inspires me or stirs something in me?”
Is it the company? The clarity? The impact? Use that as a data point to refine your search—not a reason to self-judge.
Start a “Momentum Log.” Each week, write down:
These don’t show up on LinkedIn—but they’re the building blocks of your future success.
Try saying:
“I’m proud of them, and I’m proud of me.”
Then move forward. Your story isn’t late. It’s just not done yet.
What’s one small win you can own this week—without waiting for an offer?
Write it down. Do it. Celebrate it.
That’s the process.
If you’re feeling unsteady or unfocused, you don’t need to go it alone. I help job seekers reconnect with their professional energy, manage their mindset, and move forward with clarity.
